Small Expeditions for Young People

The Wilderness Academy was founded in Sweden in 1987. The fundamental aim of the Academy is to bring young people back to a real contact with Nature. The Academy has been carrying out this commitment for decades either with Adventure Camps either with hikes into the heart of Wild Nature

A main feature is also the direct contact with Native people in different areas of the Planet. Only in this way -we have realized in decades of activity with young people- is it possible to remedy the damage created by today's virtual world. Only in this way, in this absolute absence of "values" or edifying examples or real, clean initiations, is it possible to bring the ypoung ones (following the Scandinavian example) back contacting the Sacred that is completely lacking today; that Sacred represented by Respecting the Earth and therefore for oneself and others. Initiations, which (since these are a need inherent in the soul of young adolescents since prehistory) boys go otherwise to look for elsewhere and we know well, alas, where… (continued)

First of all, what we believe makes us unique is the fact that, among explorers, true mountain people, mountain guides, and so on, we are certainly people who have lived the woods and the mountains (in short, Wild Nature) since we were little kids- experienced it with every fragment of our being: it has become part of us, it is the nway we live daily.

Furthermore, what also makes the Academy unique is the fact that we always invite a parent or another relative to our activities, and this certainly in order to lend a hand, but above all, in order to continue at home what you have learned with us...
